RMIT representation at IEAA Board Elections

Sue Fujino is Executive Office to DVC (International) and has more than 25 years of experience in education, with most of the time in international education. She has worked in this capacity in Australia, in a number of universities and professional bodies, and overseas. Sue was founding Secretariat of the International Education Association, Australia (IEAA).

During last week's Australian International Education Conference (AIEC) in Brisbane, the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA) held their Annual General Meeting at which a number of positions on the Board were up for election.

RMIT was well represented in the list of people who stood for their positions and congratulations are well in order to Chris Ziguras and Rongyu Li on their election to the Board.

Chris Ziguras was elected Vice-President to the IEAA Board. Chris is Deputy Dean, International at RMIT's School of Global, Urban and Social Studies. His research focuses on globalisation processes in education, particularly around the regulation of cross-border provision.

Chris has had a deep commitment to IEAA for many years, and has contributed in a range of capacities including; serving as a Board Member since 2012, chair of the Research Committee, and Deputy Convener of the Transnational Education (Special Interest Group) for several years.

Rongyu Li has been re-elected as a member to the IEAA Board. Rongyu is Executive Director International at RMIT, Chair of the Victorian International Directors Committee (VIDC) and an executive member of the Australian Universities International Directors Forum (AUIDF).

Rongyu has served as a board member of IEAA since 2010 and would now be serving his third term. Prior to his career in international higher education, Rongyu w worked for the Chinese government facilitating foreign direct investment including projects funded by the IMF, World Bank, Asian Development Band and foreign government aid agencies.
