Nigel Healey, Professor and Vice-Chancellor (International) at Nottingham Trent University, argues that universities engaged in Transnational Education have more in common with the Chelsea Football Club than global corporations like BMW and Apple. Chelse'as management, players and fans are from every corner of the World and games are broadcast and played globally.
Likewise, Manchester City Football Club now owns a global network of affiliated football clubs in Melbourne, New York and Yokohama. Professor Healey asserts that professional football has more to teach us about the future globalisation of higher education than global business.
